BEGINNING FLAMENCO DANCE

Beginning-level flamenco dance classes will focus on palmas (handclapping), marking patterns, footwork, arms & hands, and choreography.
Session 1- Rumba: Monday, 6:00- 7:15 pm, Sep 14-Oct 26, 2026.
Session 2: Monday, 6:00- 7:15 pm, Nov 2-Dec 14, 2026.

CHILDREN'S FLAMENCO DANCE- Ages 6-10 years
In-person at Madison Youth Arts Center
In this class, children will be introduced to the basic elements of flamenco dance, which include rhythmic handclapping, footwork and traditional arm and hand movements. Besides learning simple, fun combinations, the class will also focus on using the medium of Spanish dance in creative movement exercises.

ADVANCED BEGINNING CASTANETS-
FANDANGOS de HUELVA
In-person at Madison Youth Arts Center
In this class, choreography and castanets for fandangos de Huelva, will be taught, along with castanet exercises and combinations to improve coordination and speed.
*Intro to classical Spanish dance with castanets or consent of instructor required.
Wednesday, 6:30- 7:45 pm, Sep 16-Dec 16, 2026. *The week of 9/21, class will be held on Thursday, 9/24, instead of Wednesday. *No Class 11/25.

ADVANCED BEGINNING FLAMENCO DANCE-COLOMBIANAS with the Spanish Fan
In-person at Madison Youth Arts Center
In this class, students will continue to build their knowledge of flamenco dance through more challenging technique exercises. This class will also focus on Spanish fan technique and choreography for colombianas, the beautiful and sensual palo with influences from Cuba and the New World.
*Intro to flamenco dance required.
Wednesday, 7:45 pm- 9:00 pm, Sep 16-Dec 16, 2026. *The week of 9/21, class will be held on Thursday, 9/24, instead of Wednesday. *No Class 11/25.
