This beginning-level flamenco dance class will focus on palmas (handclapping), marking patterns, footwork, arms & hands, and choreography.

SEVILLANAS WITH CASTANETS
In-person at Madison Youth Arts Center
In this class, choreography and castanets for the traditional dance, sevillanas, will be taught. The sevillanas is popular at fiestas and nightclubs and is traditionally danced at La Feria de Sevilla (the Seville Fair). Technique will focus on castanet exercises, upper body, turns, marking patterns and footwork that will support the sevillanas choreography.
*Intro to flamenco or classical Spanish dance with castanets or consent of instructor required.

ADVANCED BEGINNING FLAMENCO - SOLEÁ POR BULERÍA
In-person at Madison Youth Arts Center
IIn this class, students will continue to build their knowledge of flamenco dance through more challenging technique exercises. Choreography and combinations for soleá por bulería will also be taught.
*Intro to flamenco dance required.
